A song of ascents for David,

G-d did not make my heart aluf,

And my eyes did not go astray.

And I did not walk in paths of pride,

Nor in things of wonders greater them me.

If I were not to calm and silence my soul,

As if I was weaning from a nursing mother,

As if I was weaning off my nursing soul,

Becoming and hoping as Israel towards G-d from now and forever more.
